Local 404 apprentice crowned national champ

After a roughly 20-year hiatus, the World of Concrete Operative Plasterers’ and Cement Masons’ International Association Apprenticeship Competition returned, and Cement Masons Local 404 apprentice Jarrison Moore took home the title. Moore, 23, a fourth-year apprentice from Burbank, topped the 16-apprentice field during the competition, held during World of Concrete 2026 in Las Vegas from Jan. 19-23.

Cleveland Mayor Visits Local 310 Training Center

In honor of National Apprenticeship Week, Cleveland Mayor Justin Bibb visited the Laborers’ Local 310 training center in Cleveland. Bibb, who began his first term as the 58th Mayor of Cleveland in January, spoke to apprentices outside of Local 310’s training center on Nov. 15, and then listened to their stories on why they became apprentices.
