Applications accepted Monday – Friday, 8am to 12pm and 1pm to 4pm.

Requirements

  • 18 years of age

  • High School Diploma or GED (provision of G.E.D. certificate/score sheet) or 1,500 hours documented hours in the trade

  • Military applicants must bring a copy of DD214

  • Birth Certificate

  • Testing

  • Interview

  • Valid Driver’s License/Photo ID

  • Pass drug test

Terms of Apprenticeship Training

  • Apprenticeship shall be four (4) years

  • Minimum of 650 hours of on-the-job training per half year (1,300 hours per year)

  • Minimum of 160 hours of classroom instruction per year

  • Testing: Math test during the first week of classes, must pass to move on in program

  • Operates under the “Intent To Hire” Program

  • Raises every six months if training hours are secured

  • Earn from 40 to 95 percent of the journey-level wage during the apprenticeship program

  • Gain union benefits after 90 days in the program

Affiliated Colleges

Apprentices of Carpenters Locals 373 and 435 can receive course credit towards an associate degree in a program offered by Cuyahoga Community College and Owens Community College.
