  • New apprentice classes begin every July

  • $40.00 processing fee

Admission Requirements

  • Minimum 17 years of age at application; 18 years of age at time of selection and indenture

  • High school diploma, G.E.D. or Associate Degree (Submit official high school, college or GED transcripts)

  • At least one (1) year of high school algebra or post-high school equivalent

  • Test – Electrical Training Alliance aptitude exam

  • Interview

  • Valid Driver’s License and reliable transportation

  • Legal right to work in the United States

  • Physical ability to perform the work

  • Pass drug test

Terms of Electrical Apprenticeship Training

  • Apprenticeship shall be five (5) years consisting of ten periods

  • Minimum of 8,000 hours of on-the-job training

  • Minimum of 820 hours of classroom instruction

  • Raises following successful completion of each period

  • Probationary period of 1 year

Terms of Telecommunications Apprenticeship Training

  • Apprenticeship shall be three (3) years consisting of six periods

  • Minimum of 4,800 hours of on-the-job training

  • Minimum of 480 hours of classroom instruction

  • Raises following successful completion of each period

  • Probationary period of 1 year

Affiliated College(s)

Apprentices of IBEW Locals can receive course credit towards an associate degree in a program offered by Northwest State Community College.
